Honey Hot Mustard Wings

The Stuff You Hate On A Stranger’s Food Blog

Honey Mustard finally gets to bust out of its position of being a sideline dipping sauce and gets the bonafide status of wing sauce. This wasn’t even mustardy enough for me - I want that borderline wasabi experience but I wasn’t going back out when I saw my limited asian hot mustard selections. Next time I’m going for mustard powders - and hey I might even toss in ‘sabi powder too. You know, to really feel alive.

We can talk Mayo on wings too if you want. I went to Chad’s BBQ a few weeks ago and was blown away by the alabama bbq sauce on a fried half of chicken so I knew it was in the realm of possibilities, but in ALBBQ Sauce it’s vinegared up and watery. This thick incantation of Mayo on fried chicken is different, but with the honey it made for a sticky finger lickin situaish that kind of ruled. With access to unlimited running water and possibly some of the best soap on earth at my house, I still yearned for the acetoned citrus of a wet-nap.

Ingredients

  • 3 tbsp S&B Hot Mustard (prepared)

  • 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard

  • 1 tbsp Yellow Mustard

  • 1 tbsp Coleman’s Mustard Powder

  • 1/2 Cup Honey

Wings are just wings - but coat them in potato starch ahead of time.

Process

Fry them thangs.

Toss them thangs.
